Texas DMV fees

Licenses and ID cards come from Texas DPS. Titles and registration are TxDMV fees, paid at your county tax office. Counties add their own local fee.

There's no late fee for renewing late, but after 5 working days you can be ticketed up to $200, and a ticket adds a 20% registration penalty when you renew.
Most DPS fees include a $1 admin fee that's waived by mail.
