How to book a PennDOT road test
In Pennsylvania you walk in for the knowledge test. The road test needs an appointment, booked online or by phone. Here's how it works.

Renewals, replacements and address changes are mostly done online. Take our 3-question check first.

Knowledge test: walk in
Go to any Driver License Center with your forms. No appointment needed.

Road test: book it
Schedule on PennDOT's exam scheduler, or call (717) 412-5300. Same-day tests can't be booked. Under 18, you can book up to 6 months ahead.

Or use a third-party tester
PennDOT-certified testers also give road tests. They schedule directly and set their own fees.
