Your learner's permit
Held 1 year and 1 day if you're 16 or 17.
A four-wheel car, its registration and insurance
A paper copy of the registration and a current insurance card. The car must pass a DDS safety check. For a rental, your name must be on the agreement.
A licensed driver 21 or older
No other passengers, children or pets during the test.
16 or 17: ADAP and driver ed certificates, school proof and a parent
Only if it applies
ADAP or eADAP completion, your Joshua's Law driver education certificate, school enrollment proof, and a parent or guardian to sign.
18 or older: a 40-hour driving affidavit
Only if it applies
Signed, confirming 40 hours of supervised driving, 6 at night.
