Renewing or replacing in person
Walk in to any DDS center; only road tests need an appointment. Most centers are closed Sunday and Monday.

The Online License/ID/Permit form, filled in
DDS requires it before any center visit. Do it on DDS's site or in the DDS 2 GO app.
Your current license
Renew up to 150 days early. Expired 2 years or more means retaking the tests.
Glasses or contacts, if you wear them
Vision screening is part of an in-person renewal, and required every time from 64.
Payment
$32 to renew for 8 years, $10 to replace. Centers take cash, cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
REAL ID documents, if your card has no star or your name or address changed
Only if it applies
Your identity document (such as a certified birth certificate or U.S. passport) and 2 proofs of your Georgia address. Two documents from different sources with your name and Georgia street address, such as a utility or phone bill dated within the last 6 months, a lease or mortgage statement, or a bank statement.
