How Florida driver license appointments work
In Florida, driver license offices are run by the 67 county tax collectors (Broward's were still listed as state-run in 2026), so there's no single booking site. Many offices serve by appointment only; some take walk-ins. FLHSMV says that if a county page shows no appointment link for an office, it's walk-in only.

Find your county
On FLHSMV's locations page, pick your county. Each office lists its hours, services and a link to the tax collector's booking site.

Book on the tax collector's site
Pick the service (renewal, first license, driving test) and a time. Some tax collectors give driving tests only to their own county's residents, so check before you book a test.

Bring the $6.25 fee
Tax collector offices add a $6.25 service fee per visit. Veterans with a DD-214 or VA card don't pay it.
